Synchronous Motors

Saia-Burgess has acquired the synchronous motors and motor gearbox divisions of Sick/Stegmann GmbH & Co. KG. This motor operates at a fixed synchronous speed directly proportional to the frequency of the input AC power. By energizing the electro-magnet in the stator, the rotor (containing a permanent magnet) will turn at a speed equivalent to the frequency.
